Dyonna Washington has combined her professional experiences as a preschool teaching assistant and board certified optician with her love for story telling. In her debut children’s book this spoken word artist shares how an ordinary day facilitated a remarkable moment. Having worn glasses since she was seven years old, she identifies with the children she writes for in a special way. She aims to address the physical and emotional aspects of correcting a child’s vision. She aspires to encourage empathy in classrooms worldwide. She enjoys reciting her poetry and sharing gleanings from her personal bible study in her devotional blog Lessons Along the Way (www.latwblog.com). She is also the proud creator and owner of Bear Fruit Books LLC. Dyonna resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband. There, she writes, recites and works in a bustling ophthalmology practice.
